অসময়ত ববীৰ (পত্নী) পৰা অহা ফোনটোৱে মোক সচকিত কৰি তুলিলে, তেতিয়া আবেলি ৪ মান বাজিছে৷ ববীৰ আবেগ-উৎফুল্লিত মাত - বাপু ফাৰ্ষ্ট হ’ল, ফাৰ্ষ্ট!

বাপু মানে আমাৰ ল’ৰা – আনমোল৷ হায়দৰাবাদৰ “আৰ্মি পাব্লিক স্কুল”-ৰ সি একাদশ শ্ৰেণীৰ ছাত্ৰ৷ “আৰ্মি ৱেলফেয়াৰ ইডুকেচন চচাইটি”-য়ে সৰ্বভাৰতীয় পৰ্য্যায়ত পতা তৰ্ক প্ৰতিযোগীতাৰ আজি আছিল দ্বিতীয় স্তৰৰ প্ৰতিযোগিতা৷ হায়দৰাবাদৰ স্থানীয় স্কুলকেইখনৰ তাৰ্কিক সকলক ইতিমধ্যেই পৰাস্ত কৰি সি সাজু হৈ আছিল, আজি দক্ষিণ মণ্ডলৰ স্কুলসমূহৰ মাজত অনুষ্ঠিত হোৱা প্ৰতিযোগিতাটোত  সি জিকি আহিল৷ চেন্নাই আৰু বাংগালোৰৰ স্কুলৰ পৰা অহাসকল এই প্ৰতিযোগিতাৰ পৰা এইবাৰলৈ বাহিৰ ওলাল৷ স্কুলখনে তাক প্ৰস্তুত কৰিবলৈ লোৱা কঠিন পদ্ধতিত কষ্ট পাই সি ভিতৰি ভিতৰি ক্ষুন্ন হৈ আছিল৷  

এতিয়া হেনো দেশৰ আন আন মণ্ডলৰ পৰা জিকি অহা পাঁচজন প্ৰতিযোগীৰ মাজত যুদ্ধ হব৷ আৰু যদি জিকে সি হেনো দেশৰ “শ্ৰেষ্ঠতম তাৰ্কিক”ৰ সন্মান পাব, আৰু নোৱাৰিলেওটো পাঁচটাৰ ভিতৰত নামটো আহিলেই! (স্কুলতে পঢ়া গৌৰৱ নামৰ পাঠটোলৈ মনত পৰিল, মানুহৰ সকলো সময়তে গৌৰৱ আৰু অহংকাৰ কৰিবলৈ কিবা নহয় কিবা এটা সমল থাকেই!)

Untimely phone call from Bobby (my wife) alerted me, it was about 4 p.m. in the afternoon. Her voice with ecstasy came in – “Bapu won the first prize, the first!”

Bapu is our elder son – Anmol. He studies in eleventh class in Army Public School, Hyderabad. This is the cluster level national competition organized by Army Welfare Education Society. He was ready after winning the first level amongst the local schools at Hyderabad. Today he headed the race in the region defeating his counterparts from many cities like Chennai, Bengaluru etc. He was not at all happy for the tough discipline the school has adopted to prepare him.

Now, the next level competition will be held amongst the five region in India. If he wins, he would be the best Debater in the country, and if not, already one amongst the best five! (It reminded me a lesson from my school days where it taught that every individual has ample of reasons to be proud at any occasion.)

This is perhaps the time- for parenting and for sharing happiness and sorrows, electronically! I talked to him from Kerala through mobile phone, watched the snaps through whatsapp and now am celebrating the occasion with you by Facebook…..
